My Project

Despite what you may have heard about the Metaverse not grossing the billions of dollars that was anticipated, does not mean there isn't a legitimate usage in the world of therapy. From following directions using "Vacation and Job Simulator" to specific VR scripting made for children on the autism spectrum, the possibilities of Virtual Reality are endless. Last year, my students created a museum in the Metaverse to showcase the contributions of African Americans in the field of communications. Virtual Reality has also expanded their ability to visit worlds and places that incinerates meaningful and impactful conversation. My students have visited the depths of the ocean to planets in the universe. While we are cautious and careful to ensure parents are aware and on board, this type of intervention has been amazingly fun. The real world experience without the real world consequences are hallmark with this therapy type.
