Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books will be used to provide speech therapy services to special needs students. The vivid pictures and age-appropriate stories will engage little leaners.

Students with special needs will benefit greatly from looking at the visuals in the picture books.

Special needs students rely on visual images to initiate conversation. Most of my students will receive speech therapy in a group setting. Reading the picture books together will provide them with a common, shared background. They will then be able to use speech strategies to participate in a group discussion.
