This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I am serving students with visual impairments who will greatly benefit from tactile games and activities. Most speech therapy materials (flash cards, board games, etc.) are based on pictures and not suitable for students with visual impairments. I would like to provide my students with materials this year that they can touch and feel in order to accelerate their learning.

All students deserve appropriate materials.

My students love engaging in these tactile games and activities with their peers while targeting speech therapy goals. They also build literacy and language skills when interacting with books and stories. I have specifically chosen language-rich and descriptive books that will benefit all students.
