My Project

After the impacts of COVID-19, students now more than ever want their voices to be heard. I am one of the Speech and Debate coaches at my school. I love being able to help students share their passions and speak about issues and topics that mean something to them. Our school's Speech and Debate team has grown exponentially over the past year, and we have lead students to winning tournaments all over the state and even nationally. Students do not want to hold back, they want to share their thoughts and opinions on the world, no matter the cost. However, one of the most popular events, Informative Speaking, strongly recommends students having visual aids. These visual aids encompass having poster boards, easel stands, velcro, magnets, pictures, and more. These items do not come easy and are not the cheapest. I want to make sure my students have the tools they need to have a successful year on our team, and materials for visual aids will help to make this happen.

My students need poster boards, easel stands, velcro, magents, and other materials to support their speeches to win tournaments.

I am also a first year teacher this year along with being a coach. I am still searching for supplies to make my classroom an inclusive place. Classroom management is something that first year teachers work on the most, so having tools like a bell to gain student attention and focus will help me have a successful year. Having resources in my classroom like paper and coloring pages for students to use to help them decompress when they need it. I want to make sure my class is a place where students feel safe, and these supplies will help make that happen.
