Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn and cannot wait to start the day. They care about each other and strive their hardest to perform the best way they can. The class is diverse with students from different parts of the community and are inclusive to all of the students that enter the classroom.

We need notebooks to practice every type of writing!

This classroom needs notebooks that are well organized writing notebooks that capture what they want to say through words and pictures. This will help all of the students with staying focused during the writing process. Having these notebooks will help students with not only what they write but it will help them to organize their thinking in a way that connects to what they were used to in first grade.

These notebooks will help them to focus while writing. Being that the students still need support in writing within the lines and knowing where to start their writing, these type of writing notebooks will allow students to write what they can physically in the space provided and will understand how each page can be a paragraph of their focused writing.

My Project

These supplies help students to remember what they did in first grade when it comes to writing. They can have a space for the picture (the square part of the page). Then, the lines will help students while writing. These lines can help them stay within the lines, understand where to start and to end their thinking and how much physical space they have to stay on task while writing.

Layout of the writing page is important!

Understanding where the page starts and begins is one of the lifelong lessons that these types of writing books help students to recognize. The color of the pens is another way that students can physically see where and when they made specific errors as they are editing and revising.

The color of folders helps students to understand that each subject is different. Knowing early how to stay organized in the classroom prepares them for staying organized in school and in life. Everything has a space- even in school!
