My Students

My classroom consists of 20 amazing and eager third grade students. These incredible students vary in their abilities. In my classroom, I teach students with specific learning disabilities, gifted, and general education students. Even though my students differ in their background knowledge, capabilities, and interests, they each have their own special talents and all come to school ready to learn. Their excitement for learning and taking on new challenges is always uplifting and constantly keeps a smile on my face.

My Project

I would like to have a coding time in our classroom and this project will help make that possible. I believe this project will help spark students' interest in coding as well as encouraging creativity, problem solving, and team work in the classroom.

Through the use of interactive Sphero robots, students will learn how to perform basic and complex coding in a collaborative setting.

I will use teacher-led instruction to help students learn how to access the coding application on their Chromebooks and operate the robots. From there, students will work together to perform different challenges, such as bowling with Sphero, rolling through a maze, and many other creative tasks and activities.
