My Students

We are a small rural school district located in the northernmost reaches of New York State. We are nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks, and on the shore of the Saint Lawrence, as well as the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation. Thanks to Title VII and the Johnson O’Malley federally-funded programs, our school district provides educational enrichment programming for its Mohawk student population, which comprises 66 percent of the total school enrollment.

The high school students LOVE art class and I want to provide them a well rounded creative learning experience.

I strive to provide them with lessons that will engage and challenge them. Many of these supplies run out and I have to purchase more out of my pocket. These supplies cost a lot of money, of which our art budget has already been used up for next year and these items were not purchased yet.

My Project

We have many talented students who inspire me everyday! It's that time in the year where I try and stretch my art budget for next year. As you may have guessed I couldn't buy everything so fingers crossed I can have another successful year of donations.

Sharpies run out of ink quickly and with almost 100 students you can imagine they go fast!

The students always need more sharpeners and the light box comes in handy for tracing.

As an art teacher I teach rigorous and creative lessons. Studio Art is a foundation class so students learn drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, basic animation and more.
