This summer I moved from a beautiful, Title-One Elementary School swimming in technology for 400+ children into a non-Title One Elementary school supporting 800+ children. I was so surprised how little technology this school has available to them. I really want to help with the changes and introduce more technology into the classroom.
These parents and students support the new changes in education, are excited to help teachers, and want to be able to compete in a evolving world.
I'm so excited how much this community comes together to love and support these amazing kids. My new families come from all backgrounds, homes, lifestyles and living situations, including struggling families to the Air force base nearby.
My Project
These centers and classroom supplies will help me give them what they deserve, a more current education. The Echo WiFi will be used in centers and whole group instruction for spelling, math, and language questioning and inquiring. The Osmos, fractions technology additions will help with an Osmo previously squired. The covers will help cover The iPads for The Osmos program. The seating, balance chairs and bean bag seats, will help all of my students, and one particular student who has special needs. I want him to have the same flexibility that my other students have.
It will be like Christmas for me to see them using all of these new tools.
The community is so amazing. I would love to give back to them a engaging and welcoming classroom.
These tools will engage children in math, science, language arts, writing, discovery, and exploration like never before. The seating will help a wheel chair bound boy have a chance to sit in alternative chairs, with support, in many situations in my classroom. The flexibility in teaching is what all teachers are after, a chance to really love education again.
