Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very thoughtful and look out for each other. We are in a very small classroom but this is helping make us a close family! But we have to be inventive with our set up. They really enjoy dancing and yoga so I made sure to keep as much empty space to allow them to take breaks throughout the day for that. I want to provide my students with technology in their classroom to provide them with a different way to learn about Math and ELA.

My students just need some tools to help them be the best they can be inside and outside of the classroom and I feel these things can help get them there!

Our school is a city school and is located in a lower income neighborhood but the school does have fantastic resources for the students! I just want to provide my kids with a few more tools in the classroom.

My Project

My students love to use technology to help them read and to help them learn math concepts but we just do not have enough devices in the room. A lot of times, the students work best in small groups and we would use the new technology to form a technology group.

With a population that consists of students with special needs and students learning English, it's great that they can listen to a book and follow along or have math concepts shown to them in fun and exciting ways!

My plan is that one group will use the computers to work on activities related to math or reading comprehension. They have had access to some forms of technology but we did not have enough to form a small group. These two new computers will allow a group of 4 students to work with technology at one time. Students have also loved to print out any stories they may have written on the computers. A new printer will let the students print their work and then either display it or take it home.
