Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As a second-year Special Education teacher with my first classroom, I am committed to providing my students with a fruitful learning experience at our Tier 1 school. To achieve this, I need a designated calming corner to ensure my classroom is a safe space where students' mental health and emotions are prioritized, reducing the need for them to leave the classroom when feeling emotional. I am requesting classroom essentials to create a well-equipped environment that meets all their needs, sensory items to regulate their needs and limit distractions, and classroom snacks to implement a reward system and support any hungry students. My goal is to have a fully resourced classroom so my students can focus on being students.
