My Project

Our student population have a range of disabilities. They communicate through verbal, sign, and communication devices. This weight room will allow us to start up teams to get themselves conditioned for league play for Special Olympics that we have started up.

It will allow our students with disabilities to actively engage in proper mechanics, nutrition, body awareness, and grant access for specific training for the sport they are playing.

This will prepare the students for pre and post season regiments.

We previously have obtained a work out bench, thanks to Donorschoose support. This gives another aspect of fitness that they can put their focus to by stimulating not only physical fitness but also cognitive development in the adaptive physical education classroom. However, we need additional floor padding in order to add an element of safety measure.
