My Students

I work with children with a variety of special needs including Down Syndrome, ADHD, ED, Autisim and other health impairments. In addition, I work in a very low income area in which most of my kids are in and out of the system. Some of my students are in and out of shelters and foster homes.

Although all of my students face very difficult challenges, they always come to school with smiles, ready to work.

They look forward to the adventures I can provide through my creative, out of the box teaching style. The best part of my job is no matter what my kids are personally going through they know that my class is their safe place to be who they are and grow.

My Project

My students depend on me each and every day to provide a safe and engaging learning environment. Little chairs, mats to rest on, and sensory play are essentials to provide the best learning environment possible. Each little chair will provide a place they can sit and practice all of their skills safely. Each little mat will provide a soft and safe place for my students to rest their minds. Sensory play will engage my students' curiosity and encourage them to manipulate different objects during active play.

I am moving into a new preschool classroom in a low-income school.

The room is currently empty and both ESL and special needs students are coming this September! Please help me give my students what they deserve: a safe place to learn and grow.
