This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Since the start of the school year, I have been able to miraculously make my special needs students write meaningful poems about themselves, about social problems and current events. They were able to create beautiful illustrations for their wonderful poems, too.
As our classes proceed, my students will learn a great deal about their individual family histories, and they will make a collage about family activities, compile them in a book with their poems and short stories. Once these labors of love have been completed, each student will be honored with an Author/Illustrator?s Celebration. This will be scheduled during school, after school, or in the evening, depending on the availability of parents and family members.
I'd like my students to be able to keep these memories that they made forever. It would be if they could laminate the pages of their journals/books so they can preserve them. It would really be best if someone could help us to have five packs of GBC Self-Adhesive Lamination to help make these students' works last forever.
