My Project

I teach visual arts to students in grades 3-5 in a special needs school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Every child learns differently and requires different modalities for learning and expression of knowledge. Many of my students are visual and tactile learners who enjoy learning through seeing and doing! My goals for this project is to encourage the development of literacy skills through art making in the art room. The materials we need for this project are highly visual reading books and drawing materials to promote literacy as well as art making skills.
