Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am teaching a fabulous group of first grade ESOL and Non-ESOL students in a Title I school who are eager to learn and dive into new experiences.

For Father’s Day this year, my goal is for my students to create art on canvas and write a note of gratitude for their dads and grandpas.

I am kindly asking the DonorsChoose.org community to help me bring my project to life by donating to my classroom.

The students will use the paint markers to explore with colors and paint on canvas. They will place their finished work of art in the gift bags to take home. They will also create special memories and build their “writing muscles”.

Before our painting time, we will discuss primary colors and secondary colors. The students will learn how they can make their paintings unique with different width of lines and curves. They will also learn how to write a letter of appreciation incorporating the parts of a letter.

The engaging, mindful painting and letter writing experiences will bring so much joy to my students. The beautiful gift of art and letter of appreciation that they will give to their dads and grandpas will continue to spread joy and happiness.
