My students are creative middle schoolers who are interested in exploring the world of art. Students manipulate a variety of media in our classroom as they find a variety of solutions to challenges they approach with visual answers. Our school is a great place for learning and I am proud of the accomplishments of our students, which include recognition at local, state, and national competitions. In addition to achieving this success, my students are interested in giving back to the community through a variety of charitable activities.
My Project
Our Art program offers students a wide array of opportunities to create using a variety of media in our studio space. To help open up that space even further, we have recently acquired software that allows students to create special effects using green screens.
Now, we just need the green screens to help students realize the possibilities of special effects when combined with storytelling.
These screens will allow for flexible learning to take place because they are collapsible and will be useful to other teachers in the school for projects that require students to think beyond normal presentations and actually place themselves in the environments that they are learning about in class.
I am excited to see what my students create when we acquire these tools and how we can use them to tell stories and share learning experiences with others.
