This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a wide range of abilities and capabilities within my classroom. This classroom setting is a self-contained room. This means that most of my students come to me because they are behind grade level curriculum and have learning disabilities that impede their learning in a regular setting.
My classroom has a creative and fun atmosphere that supports each and every child's needs and abilities.
They are allowed to be themselves and discover what and how they learn best, despite our challenges and hindrances.
My Project
Due to the pandemic, classroom field trips and public fundraisers have been put on hold. This has decreased the amount of money the class has to spend on classroom essentials such as school supplies, sanitation station supplies, and restocking supplies for paper, manipulatives, center activities and recreational games for inside recess.
My rotating groups of students will present the classroom teachers with their choice of beverage for purchase to develop the social skills needed for their future.
This will allow them to develop the skills for approaching someone and initiating conversations, as well as staying on topic. This project will also allow them to develop essential math skills such as money management and computation.
