My Project

Teaching special education is a deeply rewarding experience, allowing me to support students who are fully capable of achieving greatness with just a bit of extra guidance. My role involves not just teaching but also nurturing the unique potential of each student, helping them overcome challenges and reach their end goals. However, to facilitate this growth, it's crucial that our students' basic needs are met before any effective learning can take place.

In the time I have been teaching, I have noticed that many of my students lack the essential supplies needed for their education.

Items such as tissues and folders with pockets, which may seem minor, are often unaffordable for some families. This creates a barrier to learning, as highlighted by Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, which emphasizes that students cannot focus on their education until their basic needs are fulfilled.

For the upcoming school year, I am seeking support to provide these necessary supplies. As a teacher, my resources are limited, and while I strive to ensure all my students have what they need, I simply cannot do it alone. By helping to supply these basic items, we can create an environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed, free from the worry of not having the tools they need to learn effectively.
