I am a special education teacher with 17 students, I was a paraprofessional/special education assistant and a BII/behavioral therapist before becoming a teacher. In the field, I've seen so many kids benefiting from laminated materials.
Laminating system can be used to make a lot of useful tools for special education classrooms!
For example, token board. I've made token boards for my students, it encourage and motivate them by visualizing the working progress. They can get a token for each step of work, once they collect a certain amount of token, they win a prize, either a small bag of chips, or a piece of candy, or iPad time, even the chance to rest on bean bags!
Laminating system can also create communication boards. A communication board is a device that displays photos, symbols, or illustrations to help people with limited language skills expressing themselves. The student can point to or touch the images to communicate with others. Not all the students with language barriers have access to a electronic device all the time, laminating the copies of frequently used words can help the classroom staffs even families!
