This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello donors, I’m a special education teacher for an Autism kindergarten-2nd grade classroom in an underserved Los Angeles community. My students are bright, curious, and eager to learn, but they face unique challenges that require specialized support.

Our classroom has a calming area where students can sit and engage in coping skills strategies.

Unfortunately, our calming corner lacks the necessary tools to assist my students. Some of the things we need are a rug, chairs, social/emotional supplies, headphones, plush animals and books. We also like to provide our students with the opportunity to engage in an outdoor physical activity as a coping strategy, for this we need outdoor equipment in order to support
