My Project

My students are eager explorers, creators, and problem-solvers who thrive when given the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning. They are curious about the world around them and passionate about making connections between their classroom studies and the real world. They love projects that allow them to combine science, technology, art, and design, and they take pride in sharing their discoveries and creations with our school community.

This project will provide the essential materials for a series of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities that will inspire creativity, enhance learning, and build a sense of pride and ownership in their work.

We will create models of the human eye using magnifying cards to explore how light and vision work, build plant branch replicas with coffee stir sticks to understand the importance of plant adaptations, and use blank page books and plastic sleeves to document our findings and observations. These activities help my students develop skills in observation, critical thinking, and communication, all while nurturing a deeper understanding of the natural world.

We will also incorporate cultural studies by creating a native Hawaiian voyage diary. This diary will combine history, art, and writing as students reflect on traditional Hawaiian voyages and the importance of navigating by the stars. Craft supplies will help bring this project to life as students illustrate and write about the journeys.

Finally, with sublimation supplies, my students will take their creativity to the next level by designing and printing custom art onto everyday items like socks, coffee mugs, and drink tumblers. This will give them a chance to explore the intersection of art and technology while learning about graphic design, digital printing, and entrepreneurship.
