Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergartners, who attend a Title I school in the South Bronx, are bright and curious young leaders just beginning to explore the world of literacy. They are learning to recognize and write letters, as well as read and spell words. My scholars love listening to stories and looking at pictures. I want to create a print-rich environment where they can practice their reading skills.

With your donation, we can establish a library filled with decodable books.

This will allow my scholars to focus on specific skills during small group activities and partner work. Additionally, they will be able to borrow books to practice reading at home with their parents.

With your support, these young scholars will have the opportunity to experience the joy of diving into books and exploring different worlds. By nurturing their passion for literature, we can help them develop a lasting love for reading, an important step toward college readiness.
