Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I generally teach a very diverse group of students. This year, I have students in my classroom whose families are from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, India, Ethiopia, and various parts of the United States. Six of my twenty-five students are English learners. My students come from socio-economically diverse backgrounds. While a few are from middle-class families, more than half come from working-class families. My students' families are interested and involved in their children's educations. However, as a school community, we need assistance to obtain materials to enrich student learning.

My Project

Learning is multi-sensory. Students have to see, hear, and talk about what they are learning. However, with twenty-five students in a classroom, seeing is sometimes a challenge. Our Epson projector helps solve this problem. We use it daily to project educational videos and to share student work. However, during the last few weeks the projector's bulb has begun to flicker and the projector randomly shuts down multiple times during lessons.

We need a replacement bulb to keep our projector functioning.

We also need adapter cables to charge our iPads. Although, our iPads are several years old, they are still useful and allow my students to access many important reading, writing, and math apps. However, the charging cables that came with the iPads no longer charge the iPad batteries. We need your help to obtain new ones. The UE Boom speaker will allow my students to hear video content.
