My Students

Do you remember how you learned how to write? It was probably with lots of whiteboard (or chalkboard) visuals, one-on-one instruction and pencils at your disposal. It's time to get my students writing!

My incoming kindergartners are bright eyed, eager to learn and excited to be at school.

They will be in a dual immersion classroom, learning to read, write, speak and listen in Spanish and in English. They are thirsty for more knowledge and can't wait to do the things that the big kids already can do.

My Project

The materials I am requesting all relate to writing. The whiteboard easel will greatly help in my instruction, being able to use it to model what great writing looks like, how to brainstorm and even how to match our illustration to our writing. The table-top easels will help with my small group instruction, a time when I can hone in on a small group of students and their specific needs. The pencil sharpener will give me, and my students, the opportunity to use pencils of different thicknesses to develop their fine motor skills, and ultimately their writing.

These donations will improve my classroom by allowing me to teach writing in a developmentally appropriate way.

I will now have the tools needed to teach these young minds how to express themselves on paper.
