Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Dual Language school in Washington, D.C. We are a second grade class with children from all different cultural backgrounds. They are a great group of kids! They are very enthusiastic, have loads of energy and have kind, caring hearts.

Like typical second graders, they love playing outside, sports, dance, arts and we pride ourselves in creating a love for reading and writing from a very young age.

They are passionate about reading and get very excited when we have new books in our library. Therefore, our students need new and high interest books to keep them engaged.

My Project

We are a dual language school, and with so much great English literature book, the students often ask for those books in Spanish or even new books they have not read yet. With new and enriching Spanish literature books, the students will be able to read exciting texts that will keep them constantly engaged! This will also help us build their reading stamina and help our language learners be fully engaged. These books will make a difference in the students learning because they will be eager and excited to read these fun books in our library. We hope you support our dreams of a full, enriching Spanish library!
