My Students

This is my first year teaching a fourth grade class in a Spanish dual language program in Brooklyn. My students include a combination of English language speakers and Spanish language speakers. They are a very diverse community of learners that love sharing their ideas with each other, exploring and learning new things every day.

My students love to solve problems during math.

They enjoy reading, writing, and sharing their stories with their peers. My students inspire me to become a better teacher every day.

My Project

My fourth graders are voracious readers. They love to read in English and Spanish, but they need new books to keep them engaged. Since I am a new dual language teacher we still need many materials for our class.

My students are becoming sophisticated readers, and I need materials that continue to engage them every day.

Having new leveled books will help address the needs of each individual child in my class. It will also motivate them to read as they learn a new language.

Your help in funding this project will allow me to build a classroom library that addresses their needs and interests.
