Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The majority of my students come from low-income families and qualify for free lunch. My students are friendly, caring, generous and inquisitive learners. The majority of the students in my school are English Language Learners, some with special needs.

My students are excited about language learning on a daily basis.

They are excited about the prospect of expanding their knowledge of language and cultures of other countries. They get a taste of learning about other cultures through Social Studies, but are eager to learn more! They constantly give their all to take control of their own learning. Every day they bring a smile to my face and remind me why I love to do what I do. It is truly a wonderful, rewarding experience teaching students who possess such a passion for the world!

My Project

This pandemic has created financial hardships for our students, their families, and our school community. With unemployment high and budgets being slashed it is more difficult than ever to secure quality learning materials for my students.

I am asking for composition notebooks and paper to help alleviate the burden on our families for the upcoming school year.

The students will have their own notebook where they will keep their work. The copy paper will help ensure that work and writing activities can be photocopied in advance and glued into their notebooks in the event we need to transition completely to remote, off-site learning.
