Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year all of our advisories are committing precious instructional time to independent reading. The library has been busier than ever, and most of our Spanish-language books are getting checked out. Teachers are asking for more resources to support their multilingual learners in getting engaged in a book.

Students who are learning English benefit from continued literacy in their home language.

We want to create advisories where students feel comfortable reading, and for classes that are majority Spanish-speaking, it's essential that we provide Spanish language books that kids will be excited to read.

As the school librarian, I created this list based on current circulation trends. Knowing that we can't keep Spanish language books on our school library shelves shows me that students are eager for more books in Spanish! Thank you for supporting our readers.
