We love learning! Every day is about building independent, motivated, and passionate learners and readers. My students practice their reading with books that they love, and actively use comprehension and fluency strategies to boost their understanding as they read!
My students are, in one word, AMAZING.
They are kind, motivated and excited to learn. My school is 98% Latino, and 91% of students qualify for free or reduced price lunch, so many of my students don't have many books at home to read. By checking out books in the classroom library, my students get to practice reading outside of school with books they love! My students are compassionate, eager and determined to do their very best. Help them learn to love reading!
My Project
Please help me fill my library! These books will be used for my students to check out and take home to share with families, or build their reading skills independently. I would love to provide my students with bilingual books to share at home, to help strengthen bonds with family members and care takers. This project also includes easier to read chapter books for my struggling readers in upper grade levels!
My students face many challenges, from facing violence within the community, to constantly shifting household dynamics.
One thing I can provide for them, is my belief in them and as many opportunities to succeed as possible. Please help me provide them with books, to show that you believe in them as much as I do!
