Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help us continue to build a diverse Spanish-English library for our neurodiverse emergent bilingual students. Our school's bilingual special education (BSE) program supports high-need English language learners through culturally and linguistically responsive instruction. These books also benefit our 50+ dual-language program students at my school and migrant students from more than a dozen countries.

Our goal is to help our students fall in love with reading by offering a diverse selection of bilingual books.

Given their recent arrival in the United States, these materials are important entry points for our students who have large interruptions to their formal education.
