This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting flashcards and dictionaries to help my Spanish-speaking newcomer students have access to reference materials to help them grow and develop their English vocabulary. These will be accessible for students throughout the day to be used to assist in conversations, assignments, and some assignments.
I am also requesting books in Spanish and bilingual books for our reading for pleasure time.
I want my students to feel welcome and safe in the classroom. Having access to texts in their home language will help create this welcoming environment.
I am also requesting a TpT gift card to buy some additional resources for newcomers and language acquisition, as well as independent practice lessons and units.
