My Students

I have a very unique bunch of students: some from two parent households, a portion of them are from single parent houses, and their are even some who do not have any parents. I am reinstating a foreign language program at my school. My students, for the most part, are very bright and intelligent kids. I love it that I am getting to share something that I am passionate about with my kids. Immersing my students in Spanish Language and Culture is a lot of fun.

85 percent of my students are on free and reduced lunch.

Some of my students even lack the basic supplies for school.

Sowing these seeds of foreign languages into my students will greatly benefit them in the long run, as we are in a free-market atmosphere, that the need for proficiency in foreign languages is a must.

My Project

These dictionaries are crucial to expanding their vocabulary and helping them with classroom assignments, which include reading and writing in the Spanish Language. Teaching at a Title I school has a multitude of challenges.

My current set is worn out and is missing pages, covers, etc.

Having a new set of dictionaries will greatly improve my abilities, as a foreign language teacher, to improve my students understanding and comprehension of the target material. Being a first-year teacher, my resources are limited to what I can afford. Also, with a less than ideal education budget in my state, funding is at a level, which is at low, due to a reduction in the state's income.
