My Project

My students are involved in a University of Alaska citizen science research project using a device called a magnetometer. These are used for gathering scientific data for NASA on the aurora and deployed in key places in Alaska. The Innoko River School has been one of the sites chosen in this research project.

My students will start learning the basics of soldering on a motherboard and understand the electronic components and their function in order to create their own magnetometers.

Soldering and understanding these electronics are important to the world we live in today.
