My Project

My STEAM classroom serves 650 students in a Title I school with 65% of students on free and reduced-price meals. Each week I have 30 classes of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders pass my door for fun and exciting lessons and activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

It is important when working with so many classes of diverse students that I have enough materials for them and that I have visual representations of the things we are learning about.

The James Webb Space Telescope that we study through NASA's website has my students over the moon with excitement about our space program. These models will give every student an opportunity to have a hands-on experience by comparing them to the images of these magnificent machines we see on the internet.
