Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from beautiful, loving, and resilient communities across South Central LA. During the 15 months of virtual learning, our students have relied on art and music to relax and practice self-care. They are very creative and artistic. They love creating wonderful art projects and we would love to fill our new school with their amazing artwork.

We want the walls of our school to represent our diverse communities.

We want our school to be a safe space that highlights all our students.

My Project

We started our Art and Music Club last year virtually. We were only able to use digital resources to share and develop our art. Painting is a big part of our students' lives. With these new supplies, our students will be able to finally create the beautiful art that we talked about all year and display it all around our school.

Our students use art to express their feelings, practice self-care, and take care of their mental health.

These materials will allow our students to unlock their creativity and help design our school. It will continue to be a challenging year for our students but we hope our club and these supplies can make a difference.
