My Project

Teenagers are motivated by their stomachs. It's crazy how the promise of a bag of chips and a piece of candy is all it takes sometimes for a student to change his or her ways! For this reason, this project is to help fund some of the food purchases for positive behavior initiatives at South Central High School. The favorite reward for our students has overwhelmingly been some time in an open gym with friends eating snacks, playing games, and listening to music on the loud speaker. Students who have not received any behavior referrals, including tardies, and have not been absent more than two days are able to attend the open gyms once during each reporting period.

In addition to the open gyms, we also provide incentives for students who have been named "Student of the Month" as well as students who win during our Advisory prizes drawings.

All of these positive behavior incentives revolve around snacks and candy. We will use the items purchased from this project to create these goody bags for these students.

Ms. Lane South Central High School Grades 9-12
