Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students face huge challenges. Over 90% of our South Bronx students receive government support. Yet, our students still thrive here! They are predominately from low-income households and must receive help from the government. We are in a high crime area.

Still, our students are dedicated, show up, and are ready to learn.

We far exceed the city's graduation rate! This is how much grit and desire our students have to be the best they can be. They just need support.

My Project

Students are coming back from a pandemic and many are hurting. A few of the most needy students will need tools and techniques to help them learn to self regulate and keep them in the classroom. With the use of AirPods, we will train students to use music and breathing techniques they can use when they are triggered. We will 1 on 1 pull the most needed to learn the breath techniques that will get the student back to baseline, ready to learn, and most importantly stay in the class ready to learn!
