My Students

Located just blocks from the United Nations, my 2nd grade students represent countries from around the world. With that said, I currently have 26 students and twelve different languages are spoken in my classroom; not including English. Many of my students begin the year, or join our class mid-year, with little to no English.

Diversity of the thirteen spoken languages in my classroom, allow for an amplitude of learning for both my students and me.

We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from one another. All the students have different life experiences and that it what makes my class amazing.

My Project

This project is a continuation of a project that was completed this year. I have already received iPads through donorschoose.org and now I need to provide my students with access to sound. The requested headphones will be used to provide my students with the ability to listen to instruction in both their native language and English. It will provide a resource that they can use independently when an adult cannot assist them.

Having the SOUND ON will provide incredible opportunities for auditory learners to grasp the language.

It will allow students to feel included in the curriculum. We cannot wait to use them!
