Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Providing my English language learners opportunities in learning through a variety of learning tools will not only promote learning in a fun way, but, will also support their own learning styles.

The items that are chosen are items that explicitly promote learning through hands-on.

The Talking Flash Cards can offer support to my English Language Learners who struggle with letter/sound recognition. This tool also offers them support with matching spelling in order to develop language. The Talking Mirror Phoneme Set offers my students with special needs an opportunity to promote literacy skills in a multi sensory way while also providing them with the proper mouth formation for each sound. Both devices encourage speech in a fun practical way.

The gift card for Teachers Pay Teachers will be utilized to purchase digital slides on our Fundations Program, which is a phonics program that develops students’ understanding of letters/sounds, cvc words, sentence building, and story comprehension. The digital slides will be helpful in supporting my visual learners as well.

In addition, I would love to purchase other fun and engaging games to promote phonological awareness. My students are mostly English language learners and while these items will help in the learning process, I find that they will also support students with learning difficulties. I am always advocating for my students and seeking out new ways to support their learning, I am hoping that you can fund my project. I am grateful that DonorsChoose offers teachers that opportunity!
