My Students

In a resource room like ours, we have a variety of different ages and students with many different needs. From multisensory language and math, to social and emotional skill roleplaying, the excitement that they exude for learning is contagious. One thing is certain, our classroom is full of active students who love to move and learn.

My Project

Our students deserve the very best reading instruction and instructors. That means that we, as teachers, need to have the very best information available to us on how the brain learns how to read and why some students may struggle with popular methods that are not based in the Science of Reading.

When teachers know more about the science behind how our brains learn to read, they can be more effective in their practice.

By using multisensory, explicit language instruction with all students, we can prevent more children from falling through the cracks, and instead help them develop and nurture a lifelong love of reading.

We are in a small district that has been fortunate to have had in-person learning this past school year. This collection of books will be available for our teachers; the laminator will be used for laminating materials like phonics flashcards and reward cards for the students as they develop new reading skills, and the dry erase markers for will be used for student practice.
