it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year my kindergarten special education students are full of energy and excitement to learn. Some of my students are diagnosed with autism. They have unique sensitivities to certain types of sensory input, which can create challenges in everyday situations especially in a school settings. My goal is to create a corner in the classroom with some of the new sensory tools that can support my students with autism's unique needs. The vest, spinning chair, and balance beam enhances the vestibular sense (movement) and proprioceptive sense (deep pressure), which is vital for autistic sensory development.
This project will provide the students with autism some sensory tools that provide deep pressure therapy which improves their well-being and learning outcomes in a school setting.
