Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a mainly Spanish/Chinese community. This year will be very different since we will be learning online. I would like to help my students learn online by having new technology. I am using an older laptop that freezes and gives me a hard time during meetings. If I can have a new one it would be easier for me to work and get things done for my students. My students are hard working kids who just need to be given the opportunities and materials to do their best. They love to read but now that we are working remotely and that makes it harder for them.

My students all speak English as a second language.

My students are very special because they are trying their best to learn in a language that isn’t that familiar to them. They try their best and come to school happy and ready to learn something new every day. My students deserve to learn in an environment where they feel loved, comfortable, and motivated to learn. These are students who don’t always live with their parents. They often don’t receive the love they deserve. I want to give them a classroom they deserve!

My Project

These materials will make a huge difference in my virtual classroom. I feel this way because my children still need critical thinking passages and I can find them on teacher pay teachers. I can find some critical thinking passages and work with my class in small groups with the materials.

My students need to learn how to answer questions properly and prepare for state tests and we can do that with these materials.

They can also look for the answers in the passages. I can also assign some for homework where they can try them on their own.
