My Project

I am a Social Worker in the South Bronx seeking funding for the first module in a series of courses to become certified in the therapeutic modality of Somatic Experience therapy.

Somatic Experience therapy is a modality for those who have endured a traumatic experience.

I work in an environment where many of my students have experienced trauma and they are in need of therapeutic sessions to heal from their trauma.

Somatic Experience treats trauma from a perspective of how it registers in the body vs. typical talk therapy. The modality deals with the flight, fight, or freeze responses to trauma and helps release those trapped feelings in order to heal.

As a certified Somatic Experience therapist I will help my students heal from trauma.
