My Students

My classroom is an active, vibrant, exciting place of learning, where students come to drink deep and leave full of knowledge. Help me to make their cups over flow each day with this awesome, hands on, integrated, science based project!

My students attend a small, inner-city, Title I school in South Carolina.

Our school, while filled with over 70% free and reduced lunch, strives everyday to push our students to new heights! We engage our students with the Arts, wow them with our curriculum, and put their hands on every lesson. The are curious learners...like little sponges, soaking up every bit of information I can give them. They LOVE science. I work overtime trying to go deeper and get more for their wondering minds.

My Project

The class set of books, whiteboard lessons, and hands-on science activities tubs that I am requesting will help my current and future students grasps the science concepts of solids, liquids, and gases in a fun and exciting way, while preparing them for the P.A.S.S.,(Palmetto Assessment of State Standards) our state's end of the year test. If we must prepare students for major end of the year tests, we might as well do it in an engaging, memorable way that they will never forget. The amazing that activities that I have planned for the requested materials will make this seemingly boring topic come alive. Students will not just learn from rote memorization of facts, but through touching, feeling, and experiencing. Through your generous donation, my class will be impacted for years to come!
