This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are tactile learners who need the satisfaction of creating things with their hands. They enjoy the idea of making things, and their curiosity guides them in their desire of wanting to know how things around them are made, how they work, and how they can fix them.

Most of my students come from an industrial area of Brooklyn, and will likely find jobs that require specific, industrial skills.

My goal is to help them explore these skills earlier on in their lives so they can enjoy the experience of learning.

My Project

My students have benefited from having several projects funded through DonorsChoose, including elementary robotics kits and drone building. They are now ready to take the next step and learn basic electronics. With the materials requested, they will learn basic soldering and how to solder circuit boards and other projects that will teach them the basics of electronics. Many of my students are interested in electronics, but don't know where to get started. With this project they will be able to create simple robotic functions, which will lead to more advanced projects, such as arduino and raspberry pi. It is my goal that through these materials students will be able to form skills that can lead to higher level jobs in the industrial sector.
