Solar Explorations

Help me give my students a chance to explore solar energy and circuits in ways never done before! With the use of solar panels, robots and solar powered cars scholars will be able to explore solar energy.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Lomax's classroom raised $1,162

My Project

Today's scholars are well versed in scientific phenomena such as how speakers amplify sound and how to cook using solar ovens. In an effort to grow with my scholars and for them to be able to explore how renewable resources like solar energy are used, it would be extremely beneficial for them to create solar cars, bionic arms, as well as robots using solar energy. The use and access to these materials will help my scholars to better understand the Law of Conservation of Energy, which states that Energy is not created nor destroyed simply transferred from one thing to the next.

To teach solar energy as a renewable source of energy, scholars will need solar panels to construct mini homes powered by solar energy.

For those who'd like a more challenging project, scholars will work with robots and microbit coded bots powered by solar energy. The majority of the work will be completed outside so access to portable devices, including an iPad, is a must.
