My Students

Our softball players have had a rough road. Their season was canceled last spring and this spring there will be strict guidelines in place which include social distancing and home workouts. With no season and only a very tiny rec program in town, we need to encourage new girls to try softball for the first time when they join the middle school team.

My Project

Our softball team is small and therefore has a small budget. Our coach is trying to change that! She is bringing in fun and innovative coaching methods and often brings high school and college girls to practice as mentors to the middle school players.

Having some equipment that is not in the school budget will allow the coach to run a variety of stations, let girls work from home, and add new drills into practice.

The girls will be motivated to play softball and will have resources for flexibility, regardless of what sports in the time of Covid sends us.
