Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My student/athletes are just now being exposed to all the benefits of being on a team. Social skill development, sportsmanship, dedication, commitment and of course learning how to deal with challenges are some things that my students will learn while on the team. Equipment is necessary to do so.

My students come from a diverse urban background.

Many come from families that are poor and struggling to get by. Others come from broken homes and they grow up in the streets. The one thing that all these kids have in common is their desire to learn and to do well. They have incredible heart and spirit and they give it their all to the end. For many of these kids, sports are their only outlet!

My Project

I am requesting 1 chest protector, 4 batting helmets, 1 catcher's helmet, 1 pair of leg guards, 1 sets of bases, and 4 mitts. This equipment is mostly for safety purposes. We are also trying to get some equipment that will improve their skills and help them develop into better athletes. Helmets and pads for our catcher are imperative and the bases are needed to lay out the field.

This project will help enhance these teenagers' lives.

It will teach them great lessons that they will be able to use for their entire lives. Most importantly, it will keep them off the streets and doing something productive.
