Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

How the Rug Will Make a Difference in Their Learning:

A classroom rug will create a warm, inviting space where my students can feel comfortable and focused.

Many of my students learn best when they can sit in a relaxed, informal setting, where they can engage with the material in a more interactive and collaborative way. The rug will provide a designated area for reading, group discussions, and hands-on activities, allowing them to move beyond traditional desk work. It will promote a sense of community, encourage cooperative learning, and give students a sense of ownership over their learning environment.

Goals for the Rug in the Classroom:

My goal for the rug is to foster a comfortable, flexible learning environment where students can feel safe to express themselves, share ideas, and participate in group activities. It will help students build relationships with their peers as they collaborate and problem-solve together. Additionally, the rug will provide a cozy space for independent reading, allowing students to escape into books and develop a lifelong love for reading. Ultimately, I hope the rug will contribute to a positive classroom atmosphere that supports emotional well-being and enhances overall engagement.

What Makes My Students Special:

My students are special because they come from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their own unique perspectives, experiences, and talents. They are incredibly resilient, tackling challenges with a positive attitude, and never afraid to ask questions or explore new concepts. They show kindness to one another and are always willing to help each other succeed. Their enthusiasm for learning is contagious, and their creativity constantly inspires me. Each student brings something valuable to the classroom, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach and learn alongside them.
