My Students

I have 12 amazing students! I work at a Title I school. These energetic children are enthusiastic and motivated learners. My pupils have a unique variety of abilities, interests, and learning styles. In preschool, it is developmentally appropriate to have lessons where the preschoolers have opportunities to interact hands-on with materials that are engaging and challenging. In preschool, we focus on the whole child through academics, creativity, and developing motor skills. .

It has been a tough year for my students, but they are champs and the results are evident in the progress they have made.

A new day is coming for us all and I can honestly say that I can't wait to see my students face to face.

My Project

The world is a noisy place and in a preschool classroom the noise can be almost unbearable for my students with noise sensitivity. Over the years, I have noticed that my students with Autism have noise sensitivities and they often avoid the block area. I want every student to love the block center. Block play stimulates learning in many domains including, mathematical, physical, language, and social-emotional.

An intentionally crafted and stocked preschool classroom block center can support planned intentional learning experiences, specifically in the area of engineering (Wynn & Harris 2013).

It is my goal, each year, to make the first experiences at school good ones. I want to create a bright and inviting space for the children to feel safe and excited about learning together as a team. I want to provide my students with a variety of soft colorful blocks to keep them interested and engaged. The block people, animal play set with trees, and the block mirrors can help stimulate their imaginations and give them limitless options for play for our students with noise sensitivities.
